Broadcom BCM4318 wireless karte geht nicht [geloest]

Hallo,

ich versuche grad wlan auf einem Acer Aspire 3000 zu meistern. Der Laptop hat den BroadCom4318 chip der scheinbar immer wieder probleme bereitet. Das system ist Suse 11.1 mit kde 3.5. Mein problem ist dass die karte scheinbar von yast richtig erkannt wird, wenn ich iwconfig in der konsole eingebe ist das ergebniss volgendes:

die wlan karte laesst sich weder ueber yast noch knetworkmanager configurieren... eine idee?

hast du die firmware für die Karte usw installiert?
Schau dir diesen Beitrag mal an, und folge dem Link und führe das Script mal aus und poste dann das Ergebnis hier.

ps. ifconfig zeigt keine wlan Karten an.

Ich hab versucht die firmware mit b43-fwcutter zu installieren, bis jetzt noch kein erfolg - bin am weiter probieren.

nach dem ich dem firmware update laut
http://wireless.kernel.org/en/users/Drivers/b43

gefolgt bin geht alles. leider muss ich ab und zu den schritt wiederholen, die firmware scheint sich ab und zu zurueckzustellen. ideen?

Was genau wiederholen?
Wenn die Internet Verbindung abbricht dann führe das Script collectNWData.sh erneut aus.

alles geht wieder, wlan karte war einfach ausgeschaltet.

@Bolleg: Läuft deine Karte eigentlich stabil? Meine Karte läuft nur über ifup und nur mit einer sehr schlechten Leistung. Mal gehts und mal nicht, nicht wirklich nachzuvollziehen wieso.... Ich glaube ich hol mir ne andere Karte!

Edit: Hilfreich kann noch sein

sudo iwconfig wlan0 rate 54MB

ausführen. Dann macht die Karte auch 54mbit/s, statt wie bei mir nur 1mbit/s.

Habe ich hier gefunden.
