[Gelöst] plasma-desktop zieht 80% CPU

Hallo,

ich altes Spielkind habe auf KDE 4.3 rc2 (unter OpenSuse 11.1) umgestellt und wundere mich nun über plasma-desktop, das um die 80 % der Kapazität eines Core2Duo auf einem Lenovo-Notebook (T60) zieht.

Selbst wenn ich OSS "failsafe" starte oder alle Effekte deaktiviere, ändert sich nix.

Zu meiner Überraschung kann man auch ohne plasma-desktop gut arbeiten. Starten, auffe Konsole mit top die PID rauskriegen, killen und schon sinkt die CPU-Auslasutung auf deutlich unter 20% -- beider Kerne. OK, mit KDE 3.5 ist es noch weniger.

Wenn jemand eine Idee hat, wie ich dem auf den Grund gehen kann, her damit, ich bin aber kein Fachmann (falls das noch nicht klar war . . .).

Welche Grafikkarte hast du und welcher Treiber wird benutzt?

Das ist natürlich heftig was da abgeklatscht wird.
Ich wette da steckt eine ATI oder Intel Karte drin.

Laut amdcccle läuft der ATI-Treiber.

Xorg zieht aber nur dann so viel CPU-Zeit, wenn plasma-desktop läuft.

Nur so als Versuch:
Kommentiere doch mal die komplette Section mit dem radeonhd aus. Ich denke, dass sich die beiden Treiber da ins Gehege kommen.
Dann sollte imho nur noch der fglrx benutzt werden. Bin aber kein Suse und schon gar kein Ati Experte.
Du weißt, dass du die xorg.conf aus der Konsole folgendermaßen editieren kannst, wenn dein X nicht mehr startet:

Code:

nano /etc/X11/xorg.conf

Speichern und beenden geht mit Strg+X und dann kurz J und Enter drücken.
Auskommentieren mit #.
Also versuchs einfach mal.
Den Test, ob direct rendering aktiviert ist kannst du mit hilfe von

Code:

glxinfo | grep direct

durchführen.

Bei 'ner Mobility-Karte kann es aber auch sein, daß der "fglrx" nicht funktioniert. In dem Fall eher den fglrx auskommentieren!

Hallo,

auch wenn ich meine Dispute mit ATI habe, aber daran lag es nicht. Ich habe den radeonhd - Abschnitt auskommentiert, aber das hatte nach einem Neustart des X-Servers keine Auswirkungen.

Ich glaube aber, dass der radeonhd auf jeden Fall keine 3D-Beschleunigung bietet.

Das schonmal gemacht? Auf jeden Fall würde ich erstmal aufräumen und vielleicht erstmal die fglrx Sachen deinstallieren.

Gelöst.

Klickt man mit der rechten Maustaste auf die Arbeitsoberfläche, kann man ja an deren Einstellung rumspielen. Da gibt's irgendwas von Activity, Standard-Arbeitsfläche mit und ohne ... -- ja was eigentlich, denn bei mir endet die Schrift auf halbem Weg. Nun habe ich 'mal auf Standard-Arbeitsfläche ohne ... umgestellt, daraufhin hat sich der Desktop ziemlich zerlegt, aber nach dem Aufräumen tat alles wie gewünscht.

Ich hatte die ganze Zeit einen Desktop-Ordner, den es bei der Umstellung auf KDE 4.3 irgendwie zerschossen hatte. An dessen Stelle habe ich eine Schnellstarter-Leiste gebaut. Die überschnitt sich mit einer Kontrollleiste, was mir aber egal war. Dabei ging irgendwas schief. Nun tuts, warum auch immer.

Hoffe ich mal. Aber nochmal: mit ATI hatte das nichts zu tun. Oder mit radeonhd. Oder xorgzeugs.
