Hallo Leute, als bisher eher aufmerksamer Zuleser melde ich mich nun mit einem Problem:
Das Update verschiedener Rechner meiner Familie von Suse 10.0 auf 10.2 verlief sehr wechselhaft........ Ein alter Pentium war völlig unproblematisch,
mein Rechner Asus A7N8X /Athlon/Nforce (ohne Sata usw.) hatte mächtig Schluck-auf und beim Rechner meiner Tochter Asrock K7S8X (Athlon/SIS5513) habe ich es inzwischen völlig aufgegeben und nach etlichen Versuchen (auch mit 10.3) wieder 10.0 installiert.
Die Probleme der beiden Rechner sind ähnlich:
Bei der Installation bleibt der Rechner beim 1. Reboot hängen. Mit List und Tücke gelingt es die Installation zu beenden (entweder mit Yast auf der Konsole oder von Anfang "failsafe". schon beim Einlegen der Installations - CD´s dauerts immer ewig bis die CD erkannt wird, und einlegen und zu schnelles "ok" klicken provoziert richtige Hänger. Während der Asus Rechner nach dem Einspielen der Updates und des Nvidia Treibers halbwegs stabil läuft und nur noch beim Einlegen einer CD Kunstpausen benötigt, friert der asrock Rechner regelmäßig ein.

Erst dachte ich die Probleme rühren von dem SIS 5513 CHipsatz des Asrock her aber nach den selben Problemen am Asus mit dem Nforce Chipsatz weiß ich nicht mehr weiter. Ich hoffe, dass ich in diesem Forum richtig bin, aber so ein klassisches Installationsproblem scheint es mir auch nicht. Verschiedene Boot - Optionen habe ich getestet aber ohne den wirklichen Durchbruch.

Erst dachte ich die Probleme rühren von dem SIS 5513 CHipsatz des Asrock her aber nach den selben Problemen am Asus mit dem Nforce Chipsatz weiß ich nicht mehr weiter. Ich hoffe, dass ich in diesem Forum richtig bin, aber so ein klassisches Installationsproblem scheint es mir auch nicht. Verschiedene Boot - Optionen habe ich getestet aber ohne den wirklichen Durchbruch.
