Andere Frage: Ist dieser Abschnitt mit dem der Resolution Identisch? Eher nein. Aber wo liegt der Unterschied? Um die Druckqualität verändern zu können, soll dieser Absatz in die PPD-Datei des Canon iP4200 aufgenommen werden.

wenn man einen neuen drucker installiert und eine andere ppd-Datei wählt, wird diese in /usr/share/cups/model/ abgelegt und nicht in /usr/cups/ppd/ ...? ist das mit 10.3 neu? oder hat es mit gutenprint zu tun?

hallo,

soweit haben sich bei mir alle probleme gelöst. habe gutenprint (5.0.1) über yast installiert und anschließend aus dem ordner /usr/share/cups/model/gutenprint die datei "stp-bjc-PIXMA-iP4200.5.0.sim.ppd.gz" in einen anderen ordner kopiert und die enthaltenen ppd-datei geändert. diese geänderte ppd datei als gz-archiv wieder in den oben genannten ordner kopiert (root rechte nötig). und anschließend kann der drucker gestartet werden, unter openSUSe 10.3 wird der drucker automatisch erkannt und in dem nächsten konfigurations-schritt muss man die treiberdatei auswählen. fertig.

in der ppd-datei ist ein nicknane festgelget, dieser sollte angepasst werden, damit man die treiberdatei in der liste bei der druckereinrichtung wiederfindet.
