Sane und Plustek 4800P

Hi, wirklich ein interessantes Forum mit vielen Hilfen über
Scanner - da sind wir auch schon bei meinem Problem angekommen:
Habe alles nach dem Howto gemacht und er initialisiert auch korrekt
das plustek_pp-backend. Leider führte dies zu keinem Erfolg,
denn der Scanner wird trotzdem nicht erkannt.

Ich habe (wie ebenfalls in dem guten Howto beschrieben) mal
die Debugzeilen für das Backend selbst durchgelesen und werd
daraus nicht schlau:

No scanners were identified. If you were expecting something different,
check that the scanner is plugged in, turned on and detected by the
sane-find-scanner tool (if appropriate). Please read the documentation
which came with this software (README, FAQ, manpages).

Also wie gesagt, ich kann mit keiner der Zeilen so richtig
etwas anfangen - ich hoffe ihr habt da mehr Ahnung.

Als OS benutze ich debian sarge mit dem Kernel 2.4.27.
Der Scanner wird über den Parallelport mit dem PC verbunden.
