ScanJet3200C - umax_pp geht aber scanimage hängt

Hallo,
ich habe probleme mit sane (sane-backends-1.0.17) und dem scanner ScanJet3200C. Der Scanner wird erkannt und mit ./umax_pp -s kann ich sogar scannen. Wenn ich scanimage -L ausführe funktioniert die Erkennung auch, jedoch nach dem Befehl scanimage -T oder scanimage hängt die Sache nach folgender Ausgabe:

LPT ist im EPP Mode, für mich ist verwirrend, dass es mit dem Tool umax_pp funktioniert und mit scanimage nicht, da kann es ja nur eine Kleinigkeit sein oder?

Hat jemand eine Idee?
