SuSE 12.1: Firefox 8 Flash-Player 11-Problem

...und alles läuft völlig problemlos, und das seit der Installation, und über alle Updates von Firefox und Flash hinweg.

Alle Repositorys auf 99, wie soll das funktionieren?!!

Wenn ich das richtig sehe ist das Repo Nr. 1 die Installations-DVD, dann kannst Du es so rauswerfen:

zypper rr Aktualisierungen-für-openSUSE-12.1-12.1-1.4

Dann die Prioritäten setzen:

zypper mr -p20 packman_multimedia packman_essentials
zypper mr -p30 mozilla nvidia

und dann die überflüssigen Debug-Repos entfernen, die sind für Entwickler:

zypper rr repo-debug repo-debug-update

Jetzt ist es Zeit für einen Dist-Upgrade Test:

zypper -v dup --dry-run

Wenn das ohne Fehler klappt kannst Du das --dry-run entfernen und das Kommando so nochmal ausführen.
Sicher ist danach ein Neustart des Systems notwendig.

Ach so, habe zwischenzeitlich openSuSE 12.1 nochmals installiert - dieses Mal frisch, vorher war's ein Upgrade von 11.2. Aber, wie man sieht, geht trotzdem nüscht

Wenn Du alles Neu gemacht hast, dann zeig doch jetzt mal die Repos:

zypper lr -up

Wenn Deine Theorie stimmen würde, so müßte es doch hier auch funktionieren.
Andernorts wird meist von Umgehungen geschrieben (z.B. wie bei mir, die alte flash-Version zu benutzen)
11.1 Und, wie schon gedacht, flash funktioniert nun wieder!
Man sehe es mir nach - ich benutze nicht zypper ...
Dürfte sich aber bald sowieso von alleine erledigen, da Adobe wohl beschlossen haben soll, nur noch Chrome zu unterstützen ...

Da es sich bei Flash um ein proprietäres Format handelt wird es nicht möglich sein das es direkt nach der Installation fehlerfrei läuft.
Wenn es hilft, dann ja.
Die 11.1 ist "Out of Life".
Solltest Du aber besser machen.
Das ist ein ganz anderes Thema, ich denke das Flash sterben wird und in Zukunft von HTML5 Komponenten erledigt wird.

Bin wohl nun auf Ubuntu umgestiegen - gibt's jetzt bestimmt für ... Ist aber erst mal nur mein Alt-Rechner.

Flash ist auch hier ein proprietäres Format.
Somit ist nicht damit zu rechnen das die Problematik hier nicht existent ist.

Aufgefallen war mir, daß in Firefox das AddOn BetterPrivacy keinen Ordner finden konnte, der LSO speichern soll - bei openSuSE 11.4 ist da ein Ordner.macromedia vorhanden.

Bei mir gibt es auch beide Verzeichnisse.

Ich kann jetzt aber nicht sagen, welche Dateien dieses Paket enthält, der Vergleich mit der Software-Verwaltung in YaST ist damit sicher etwas schwierig.)

dpkg-query -l *flash*

wäre etwa das Gegenstück zu zypper se -si flash

Nachtrag: Na ja, so allzu gelöst ist das Problem denn wohl doch nicht - die flash-videos werden nur über gnash abgespielt, und das haut nicht überall hin! Welche Site also tatsächlich "richtige" Flash-Plugins erwartet, funzt noch immer nicht

Es gibt ja auch unterschiedliche Implementationen.
