USB - Festplatte wird nicht gefunden

Hallo.
Ich habe eine externe Festplatte die ich über USB anschliessen möchte.
Leider wird die Platte nach dem einschalten nirgendes angezeigt.

cat /var/log/messages | grep dev sagt folgendes:
