Bios umstellen von IDE auf AHCI

Hallo Leute,

in einer anderen Runde wurde mir empfohlen, im Bios den Festplattenzugriff von IDE auf AHCI umzustellen. Würde ich gerne machen. Trotz suchen in Bios und Netz finde ich aber diese Option nicht. Das Bios sagt von sich selbst, es wäre auf dem Stand v 02.67c. Mir schwant so langsam, dass es die Option nicht gibt, warum auch immer …

Und wenn es die Option in deinem BIOS überhaupt nicht gibt?
Ist es überhaupt eine SATA-Festplatte?

Es ist eine SATA-Platte, das definitiv.

Dass es diese Option im Bios nicht gibt, habe ich auch schon überlegt. Allerdings erscheint es mir mehr als sinnfrei, ein Board mit SATA ohne Biod mit SATA anzubieten …

Mit Hilfe der Mainboardbezeichnung müsste man im Netz relativ schnell herausfinden ob das Bios eine AHCI Option hat.
Ich habe allerdings schon selbst ein Mainboard bei einem Bekannten gesehen das definitiv KEIN AHCI unterstützt obwohl es SATA hatte. In diesem Fall sehr blöd, da die neue SSD die ich ihm empfohlen hatte leider bei weitem seine Performance nicht bringen konnte...
Es war irgend so eine billige noaname Marke... Meiner Meinung nach ist die AHCI Option nicht notwendig solange man keine SSD verwendet. Im Fall meines Bekannten hatte ich als Option nur den Tausch des Mainboard, da es auch kein Bios Update gab...

Laut Handbuch gibt es für SATA Operation Mode nur die Einstellungen IDE und RAID. Wenn ich in der Wikipedia lese, daß der Chipsatz mittlerweile acht Jahre alt ist, wundert mich das auch nicht.

Das Bios sagt von sich selbst, es wäre auf dem Stand v 02.67c.

Du darfst nicht auf die letzte Zeile schauen, das ist die Version des BIOS SETUP UTILITY. Aber auch die aktuelle BIOS-Version 1.40 wird Dein Problem nicht lösen.
