Epson Stylus C66 wird auf SuSE 9.2 ständig neu erkannt

Hallo,

ich habe einen Epson C66 (Drucker hat leider nur USB...) mit dem C64 Treiber über YasT eingerichtet, wurde als USB-Drucker auf //EPSON/Stylus%20C66 erkannt und eingerichtet, Test erfolgreich und der Drucker druckt auch. Mein Problem: schalte ich am nächsten Tag den Rechner ein, wird neue Hardware gefunden: USB-Drucker auf //EPSON/Stylus%20C66, und genau derselbe Drucker ist auch eingerichtet und nimmt auch noch Druckaufträge an bloß kommen die nicht mehr am Drucker an, sondern stehen in Warteschlange. Wenn ich den "neu" erkannten Drucker wieder einrichte und den alten lösche, geht alles wieder normal, selbst wenn ich den Rechner zwischendurch runterfahre. Paar Tage später - wieder neu erkannt...
Ich habe schon einiges probiert: Strom angelassen, Drucker vor Rechner einschalten, Cups neu installiert usw. das macht alles keinen Unterschied. Auch habe ich den Drucker mal als /dev/usb/lp-1 (so wurde er erkannt, wenn ich bei Cups auf "nur bei erkannter Seriennummer Namen verwenden" stelle) eingerichtet, dann kam nach einigen gedruckten Seiten folgende Fehlermeldung:

und das mitten im Druckauftrag, keine Ahnung wie das kommt. Jetzt weiß ich nicht mehr weiter. Hat vielleicht jemand den C66 auf SuSE 9.2 ohne Probleme am laufen? Dann wäre noch Hoffnung da...

mein Druckauftrag stand immer noch in der Warteschlange mit "Verarbeitung läuft" und da bleibt er auch stehen. Auch löschen bringt dann nichts mehr, der nächste Auftrag hat das selbe Problem. Im Log steht was von "no such device" und genauso verhält er sich auch. Der Drucker steht im YaST einmal als konfiguriert und einmal als noch zu konfigurieren drin, mit dem selben Namen. Wenn ich den konfigurierten lösche und den anderen einrichte, druckt er erst mal wieder...
