XGL mit dem Treiber fglrx funktioniert nicht

er bringt eine meldung wie Fatal Server error, unrecorgniced option -xgl oder so ähnlich.

installiert sind compiz 0.2.2-18@i586 und compiz-gnome 0.2.2-18@i586

XGL= xgl-cvs 060522-39@i586

der befehl

/opt/gnome/bin/gnome-xgl-switch --enable-xgl

wird erfolgreich ausgeführt, doch bei

startx kde

kommt dann dieser fehler

^^ dein Sarkasmus ist unübertroffen :D aber ich glaub da mein Forum ein forum für anfänger ist, und dort auch nur selbige user sich tummeln wird es dort kaum einer wissen. Ich hab zwar nicht gefragt, aber ich kann mir das glaub sparen :D ist nur komisch das es hier bis jetzt niemand weis ;)

Wundert mich auch, daß anhand dieser ausführlichen Fehlerbeschreibung:

sowie dem vollständigen Posten sämtlicher betroffener Konfigurationsdateien und aller relevanten Logauszüge, nach etwas mehr als 1.5h noch kein mehrseitiges HowTo (natürlich in Gedichtform, bei der langen Zeitspanne, kann man das auch erwarten!) da steht, wie Dein Fehler zu beheben ist.

Aber vielleicht kannst Du uns ja nachhelfen, indem Du die fehlenden Infos postest, die Konfigurationsdateien liegen irgendwo in /etc/X11 und die Logs in /var/log ....oder so ähnlich.

Hi,

Warnung: Das aktivieren von XGL benötigt einige Linux-Kenntnisse und veränderungen am X-Server, dadurch kann man eine inkonsistentes System riskieren. XGL ist noch komplett im Alpha-Status, also kann es zu instabilität und zu Abstürzen des Systemes kommen.


bitte poste eine genaue Fehlerbeschreibung. Mit -xgl können wir nichts anfangen. Ein Tipp. Wenn du XGL aktiviert hast, reicht Sitzung neustarten nicht. Du musst den X-Sever neustarten mit
Code: 
rcxdm restart
.
Allerdings werden nur die Grundfunktionen von XGL aktiviert, also keine wobbly Fenster......
Dazu benötigst du ein Skript, dass noch die anderen Funktionen freischaltet.

Persönlich nutze ich ne GeForce und hab seit ewigkeiten XGL und Beryl aktiviert. Der Fehler liegt nicht bei mir, sondern bei nem freund, ich schreibe nur um das ganze zu vereinfachen aus der "ich" perspektive. Hab Sogar XGL und Beryl unter KDE 4 (3.80.2 svn) zum laufen bekommen :D also brauchst mir sowas net erzählen.

rcxdm restart funktioniert nicht, ich muss den X Server von hand beenden und neu starten, ansonsten würgt sich Linux komplett ab (kann an meiner Grafikkarte oder dem dummen Treiber von nVidia liegen).

Und er hat mir nicht mehr informationen gegeben, und so wie ich den Fehler oben beschrieben hab, scheint er sogar richtig zu sein (von den rechtschreibfehlern abgesehen).

Könnte es daran leigen das er eine Standartinstallation (keine Vollinstallation) von SuSE mit KDE hat? Denn normalerweise installiere ich immer voll und es hat bis jetzt immer geklappt.

XGL kann im Grunde gar nicht funktionieren mit dieser xorg.conf. Da fehtlt einiges.
Änderungen:

und DISPLAYMANAGER_XGL_OPTS? Von accel glx:pbuffer -accel xv:pbuffer nach accel glx:pbuffer -accel xv:fbo

Sry das ich wieder mal nicht geantwortet hab :D hab nicht besonders viel zeit.

@obec kann deinen Vorschlag leider nicht nachprüfen da ich es bereits hinbekommen habe. Weis der himmel warum, aber /opt/gnome/bin/gnome-xgl-switch --enable-xgl hat nicht funktioniert ABER wenn man

gnome-xgl-settings

eintippt und dort dann auf "Desktopeffeckte aktivieren" klickt funktioniert es Ö_Ö

nja trotzdem danke für eure hilfe
