Grub startet Vista nicht

Hallo Gemeinde,

Folgendes Problem: Habe auf dem Rechner Suse 11.0, WinXP und seit Neuesten auch Vista.

Zur Vista-Installation auf eigener Festplatte habe ich die anderen Festplatten ausgestöpselt, um den Vista-Bootloader gar nicht erst zu aktivieren.

Nachdem ich wieder alles angestöpselt hatte, war GRUB völlig im Eimer, fand wohl die Partitionen / Festplatten nicht mehr.
Also SUSE-Installationsdisk eingelegt, Reparaturmodus, GRUB neu installiert.

GRUB hat dabei aber nur Linux gefunden. Die beiden Windows-Partitionen leider nicht.

Also in YAST unter "Konfiguration des Bootloaders" zwei Abschnitte hinzugefügt. Einer für XP, einer für Vista. Beide Einträge sind identisch, unterscheiden sich nur im Ziel-Device.

XP startet auch einwandfrei. Aber Vista startet nicht, stattdessen fiept der System-Beeper auf Dauerfeuer und es bleibt nach dem Chainloader schwarz.

Ein Vista-Problem möchte ich freilich ausschließen. Wenn ich die Vista-Platte im BIOS als Boot-Gerät festlege, dann startet Vista einwandfrei.

Also doch ein GRUB-Problem?

Weiß jemand weiter?

PS: und ja, ich habe die Suchfunktion bemüht und trotz ausgiebiger Lesestunde nix passendes gefunden.
