make problem

hast du vorher ./configure --prefix=/usr aufgerufen ?

wenn es eine *.pro Datei gibt, dann mit qmake xxx.pro

gibt es eine README? DANN LESEN !!!
gibt es eine INSTALL? DANN LESEN !!!

handelt es sich um eine tar.gz Installation oder willst du ein RPM installieren (dann mit rpm -Uhv openvpn-xxx) ?
 
und wenn ./configure nicht richtig durchläuft ... dann wirk KEIN Makefile erzeugt ...

poste doch mal die Ausgabe der letzen Zeilen des configure Aufrufs.
und achte auf Fehler in der configure Ausgabe!

Liegt es an lzo? Was ist das?
 
1. Du musst lzo und lzo-devel mit YaST nachinstallieren

2. Du sollst nicht als root kompilieren

3. Lesen schadet auch nicht, da steht doch deutlich lesbar "try ./configure --disable-lzo", installier aber besser lzo und lzo-devel mit YaST nach, das andere ist nur eine Notlösung

4. Was lzo ist, steht ebenfalls dort, da ist nämlich ein Link, den Du höchstpersönlich hier ins Forum kopiert hast:

Hat sich erledigt - musste die devel von openssl nachinstallieren. nun hat auch die installation von openvpn geklappt.

Weil eine einzige falsche Anweisung in einem Makefile dazu führen kann, dass sowas nettes wie "rm -rf /" ausgeführt wird. Außerdem ist es eine Grundregel, dass man *nichts*, was auch als user geht, als root macht.
