[solved] Probleme bei Installation des J2SE Development Kit

Hi,
ich habe exakt, wie hier beschrieben, versucht den neuesten (also nicht den, wie in dem Beispiel) J2SE Development Kit zu installieren. Ich besitze SUSE Linux 9.2 und habe die Datei /etc/profile mit folgendem Befehl (wie unten verlangt wird), mittlerweile schon 2 mal erweitert:

ècho `export JAVA_HOME=/usr/local/java/current`>>/etc/profile

.
Wenn ich nun mein Eclipse starten will, kommt die Fehlermeldung:
An error has occured. See the logfile:
//root/space/.metadata/.log..
Woran kann das liegen.

Das kommt wenn du versuchst den Worspace zu öffnen, oder?
Dann geh mal mit cd in der Konsole in das Verzeichnis des Workspaces und poste mal die Ausgabe von:

cat .metadata/.log

Ok, dann entpack es nochmal innerhalb deines home-Verzeichnisses, also in einen Unterordner, und versuche es nochmal zu starten.

Wenns wieder nicht geht brauche ich wieder den Inhalt der .log-Datei

Hi,
bevor ich jetzt eclipse in meinem home-Verzeichnis installiere, würde ich ganz gerne den Java Development Kit nach obiger Anleitung neu installieren (da ich in der Zwischenzeit dümmliocherweise (?) die SUSE Java Pakete installiert habe und sich dadurch, denke ich mal, an meiner alten Installation des JDK geändert hat, mittlerweile habe ich jedoch die SUSE Pakete wieder gelöscht.).
Dazu ein paar Fragen:
Wie deinstalliere ich am besten mein JDK und Eclipse?
Den Befehl:

ècho `export JAVA_HOME=/usr/local/java/current`>>/etc/profile

muss ich wohl nicht nochm l in /etc/profile schreiben, oder?der steht da ja schon 2mal, wie kann ich aus /etc/profile Zeilen löschen?

Ich glaube das ist unnötig.
Was gibt denn der folgende Befehl in der Konsole aus?

java -version

Dein SDK scheint, zumindest nach dem was du hier geschrieben hast, vollkommen richtig installiert zu sein.
Der Fehler scheint vielmehr bei Eclipse zu liegen.

Und das er die Umgebungsvariable 2 Mal setzt ist kein Beinbruch.
Rausnehmen kannst du die eine doppelte Zeile indem du die Datei /etc/profile einfach mit einem Editor öffnest

also, ich habe das ganze neu installiert, inde ich einfach die entsprechenden Ordner gelöscht habe, das geht doch bestimmt auch etwas eleganter, besser!?
Nun habe ich alles nach Anleitung neu installiert, Eclipse in mein Homeverzeichnis, mit Ausnahme in /etc/profille rein zu schreiben. Komisch ist, dass ich in /etc/profile nicht den Eintrag finde (export JAVA_HOME...). Hier ist die Datei:

Ich befürchte da ist der Hund begraben.
Deine Downloaddatei enhält sicherlich auch irgendwas im Namen was x86_64 heißt, oder?
Anders kann ich mir den Fehler kaum noch erklären, ich stocher auch etwas im Dunkeln.

Nimm mal bitte den Download von eclipse für Linux, und zwar nicht 64 bit:

Vor 2 Jahre dürten da, wenn überhaupt nur AMD Athlon-Prozessoren in Frage kommen die 64bit haben könnten.
Ich bin mir fast sicher, dass du ein 32bit System hast.
