Wlan nicht konfigurierbar Atheros 9280 ACER7530G Laptop

das "nm-applet" ist immer noch auf "no" !
Alle anderen (wpa + knetworkmanager) sind auf "yes".

Das sieht jetzt soweit richtig aus.
Versuch mal den ath9k zu aktualisieren:
http://download.opensuse.org/repositories/driver:/wireless/11.1-update/
als Installationsquelle in yast anlegen und dann compat-wireless-kmp-default installieren.

Hallo Grotesk bist Du noch anwesend, habe den "compat-kmp-default" oder so ähnlich installiert bzw. er war schon installiert.

Wenn ich das richtig verstanden habe liegt das Problem an der nicht zugewiesenen IP-Adresse der Wlankarte wlan0.
Wie kann man diese "von Hand" zuweisen ?

Der NetworkManager kann die eingegebenen Daten auch nicht behalten.
Bei jedem Versuch die Verbindung neu einzustellen sind die Daten wieder weg ???

Bist Du sicher dass Dein AP seine ESSID nicht versteckt? Wenn ja solltest Du das ändern. networkmanager braucht sichtbare ESSIDs ;)

Der Windowsrechner (Zweitrechner) kann über ein Programm von D-Link (Name weiß ich nicht) die SSID sehen, zumindest wird sie im Klartext angezeigt.
Wie könnte ich die SSID sichbar machen ?

Hab eben nochmals im Routermenü nachgesehen, die Sichtbarkeitseinstellung steht auf an (also sichtbar).

Ich habe bei mir leider kein SuSE 11.1 - 64 Bit um das nachzustellen. Es ist merkwürdig dass der wpa nicht funktioniert und es ist merkwürdig dass keine offenen WLANS gefunden werden. Letzteres ist ein ziemlich deutliches Zeichen dass irgendwas mit der HW bzw dem Treiber nicht stimmt. Aber da kenne ich mich leider nicht so aus :(

Kann ich das wpa modul auch deaktivieren, und evtl. wep oder ein anderes Verschlüsselungsmodul verwenden ?

Oder doch "madwifi" versuchen ?

Laptop ohne Wlan ist ziemlich "sch..." !
