Unabhängig davon kann man für das Spritgeld, nur um sich das Board anzusehen, auch etwas anderes kaufen.
Ich verspreche mir gar nichts von solch einer Anfahrt.

Von den Spezifikationen her paßt die von Dir genannte Karte, zur Qualität kann ich nichts sagen. Wichtig ist, daß sie ein BIOS hat und die angeschlosssen Platten daher bootfähig sind. Aber wenn ich

lese, fürchte ich, daß das derzeitige Problem auf längere Zeit nicht das einzige bleiben wird, denn irgendetwas am (für viele Dinge zuständigen) PCH ist schadhaft.

Das in Verbindung mit kaputten Festplatten deutet auf überhitzten Chipsatz . Auch defekte Kondensatoren (Aufgebläht) könnten solche Probleme verursachen.
Da müsste man den Kühler vom Chipsatz runter nehmen neue Paste drunter und am besten noch einen Lüfter installieren der auf den Chipsatz bläst .
Die Bios Batterie sollte auch nach 4/5 Jahren gewechselt werden , vor allem wenn sich die Systemzeit selbstständig verändert.

Ich würde eher sagen, wenn überhaupt, dass der Chipsatz vom Board runtergenommen werden muss. Neue Lotpaste drunter ..
und wieder auflöten. ;)
Aufgeblähte Kondensatoren bei einem neuen Motherboard?!

Stutzig macht mich die Aussage, dass der Fehler immer nur beim Bootvorgang auftritt und auch nur an einem HDD. Das passt nicht exakt zu einem echten Hardwaredefekt.

Da gibt es Webseiten, auf denen man das nachlesen kann.

Aber ich sehe schon, dass es wenig Sinn ergibt, noch länger in diesem Thema mitzulesen, geschweige denn zu antworten.

Das MB ist 4 Jahre alt, wenn ich richtig gelesen hab....
Und ehrlich gesagt hätte ich das Geld in andere , evtl auch
Gebrauchtware investiert. Aufrüsten hat da keine n Sinn.

Wie bei http://linux-club.de/forum/viewtopic.php?f=93&t=121255&start=20#p774606 gibt es auch hier ein Fehlerbild, das ich nicht verstehe: Der Boot-Manager wird von der Platte geladen und zeigt brav das Boot-Menü an, aber danach kann entweder er Linux manchmal nicht starten oder Linux kann manchmal nicht auf die Platte zugreifen (welche Variante zutrifft, wurde noch nicht geklärt).

Das mit den aufgeblähten Kondensatoren hat sich schon Elektroniker angesehen, die sind alle ok.
Das Gehäuse am PC ist immer offen, ich sauge es auch öfter aus. Und es laufen 2 Lüfter. Systemzeit ist stabil, ändert sich nicht.

Erinnere ich mich richtig, dass Suse beim Installieren standard-mässig nicht im MBR sondern unter /boot die Bootdaten hinterlegt?
Beim Installieren übernehme ich diese Vorgaben. Kann das mit dem Chaos zu tun haben?

GRUB2 funktioniert ja. Im übrigen wird er standardmäßig in den MBR installiert, seine Dateien befinden sich immer in /boot/grub2.

Hier liegt das Problem mit deiner SATA Festplatte. Ein Buggy BIOS. Alles andere hätte mich auch fast gewundert.

1. Boote mal mit dem Parameter

heisst das, dass der BIOS-CHIP einen Hardwarefehler hat- mechanisch? ASUS wird wohl für das BIOS kein Update mehr liefern denke ich. Dann
würde es ja eh nichts ändern?

Der link ist auch nur zur Stillung des Wissensdurstes gedacht. Darunter steht eine Boot-Option, die den Anlaß für die ACPI-Fehlermeldungen umgehen könnte, bei der Du aber in erster Linie feststellen sollst, ob Sie das Absturzproblem löst. Die Boot-Option mußt Du bei der YaST-Bootloader-Einrichtung eintragen, wenn Du es im Boot-Menü machst, vergeht ja einige Zeit, und dann tritt der Fehler nach Deinen Aussagen nicht auf.

Das Weglassen der anderen Boot-Option soll bei der Frage helfen, ob beim Absturz Linux überhaupt gestartet wird. Wenn GRUB2 das Problem ist, brauchen wir uns um Linux keine Gedanken mehr zu machen.

Nein der CMOS-Chip (Bios-Chip) hat keinen Fehler. Das Problem liegt darin, dass die BIOS-Entwickler die ASL (ACPI Source Language) mit dem Compiler von M$winzigklein compilieren. Der wiederum nimmt es nicht so genau mit Fehlern und ignoriert sie gekonnt. Das ist allerdings nicht das einzige Problem. Die Entwickler kommen nicht drum herum ein Buggy BIOS zu veröffentlichen, weil M$... sich nicht gerne an Standards hält und das Fenster sonst fast nicht lauffähig auf dem PC wäre.

Das habe ich mal in einem Dokument gelesen, wo ein ACPI- Entwickler mehr oder weniger freundlich auf diesen Misstand hingewiesen hat.

Asus wird zwar kein BIOS Update mehr liefern, aber es besteht Hoffnung, nur auf anderem Wege eben, nämlich ein BIOS Mod. Wenn ich herausgefunden habe, ob es einen Mod für dein BIOS gibt erleutere ich dir das ganze genauer.
